Idinaos nang matagumpay ang isinagawang Fun Run 2016 ng Aliw Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) sa pangunguna ng DWIZ 882 at ng 97.9 Home Radio sa CCP Complex, Roxas Boulevard, Pasay City.

Tinawag itong ‘Pasasalamat at 25 : Takbo ng Todong Lakas bilang bahagi ng paggunita sa ika-25 anibersaryo ng DWIZ 882 at Home Radio.

Pinangunahan ito nina ABC President Josephine Reyes at ABC General Manager Randy Cabangon kung saan pinasalamatan nila ang lahat ng tumatangkilik sa mga programa ng DWIZ at Home Radio gayundin ang lahat ng lumahok sa naturang fun run.

Magpapatuloy rin aniya sa paghahatid ng mga napapanahong balita, serbisyo publiko at entertainment ang DWIZ at Home Radio .

Samantala, hinati sa tatlong kategorya ang fun run kabilang ang 10 kilometer, 5 kilometer at 2.5 kilometer.

Mahigit sa 700 ang nakiisa sa fun run at 18 ang nagwagi sa mga ito kung saan 6 na winners, tig-tatlong babae at lalaki sa bawat kategorya.

Para sa 2.5 kilometer men category, ang mga nanalo ay sina:

- Matthew Gonzales, 1st place
- Drake Manalabe, 2nd place
- Exequiem Duquesa, 3rd place

Ang mga babae namang nanalo para sa nasabing kategorya ay sina:

- Ena Abad, 1st place
- Wendy Yana, 2nd place
- Reyn Letran, 3rd place

Samantala, para naman sa 5-k category, ang mga nagwagi para sa mga lalaki ay sina:

- Jayson Gonzales, 1st place
- Roel Suarez, 2nd place
- Alex Credo, 3rd place

Habang ang mga babae namang nanalo sa naturang kategorya ay sina:

- Jenny Escueta, 1st place
- Zea Dayanara Lavarez, 2nd place
- Ma. Luz Agana, 3rd place

Para naman sa huling kategorya na 10K, ang mga lalaking nakasungkit ay sina:

- Marlon Reyes, 1st place
– Ned Rakala, 2nd place
– Ander Iza, 3rd place

Samantalang ang mga babae namang nagwagi sa nasabing kategorya ay sina:

- Cindy Lorenzo, 1st place
- Leonesa Larenio, 2nd place
- Delia Majam, 3rd place

Binigyan ng medalya ang mga nagwagi.

Naiuwi rin naman ng mga lumahok ang saya at karanasan sa makasaysayang fun run.

Filipino music icon Freddie Aguilar and director Chris Librojo signed a contract with Aliw Broadcasting Corporation for DWIZ 882’s newest program called ‘Pusong Pinoy’ which will be hosted by Ka Freddie himself. 

‘Pusong Pinoy’ will be aired every Sunday starting August 7, 2016 from 10:00 pm to 12:00 midnight. The two hour program show was conceptualized to support Filipino music talents.

Last Friday, July 22, delegates from Vietnam’s national radio station, “Voice of Vietnam” meet with Aliw Broadcasting Corporation officials to discuss issues related to the operation of a radio station particularly content, program framework, production management and human resources as part of their study tour in the Philippines.

The main purpose of this study tour is to help them in their new endeavor of airing a 24/7 English channel catering to foreign listeners, overseas Vietnamese, English speaking Vietnamese and the foreign community in Vietnam.

Opisyal nang itinurn-over ng Malacañang sa Aliw Broadcasting Corporation officials ang kopya ng nilagdaang batas para sa panibagong franchise ng broadcasting company.

Sa isang simpleng seremonya sa tanggapan ni Presidential Communications Secretary Sonny Coloma sa New Executive  Building, Malacañang ginawa ang pag-turn over ng nilagdaang batas.

Present sa turn over ceremony sina Aliw Broadcasting Corporation President/CEO Ms. Josephine Reyes, General Manager Mr. Randy Cabangon, DWIZ Station Manager Rey Langit and DWIZ News Director Mr. Alex Santos.

Ang bagong franchise na pinirmahan ni Pangulong Benigno Aquino III noong May 3 ay may bisa ng 25 taon.

Una nang nabigyan ng prangkisa ang Aliw Broadcasting Corporation-DWIZ noong panahon ni dating Pangulong Corazon Aquino at na-renew ito sa panahon naman ng panunungkulan ng kanyang anak na si PNoy.

Inihatid na sa kanyang huling hantungan ang Founder at Chairman Emeritus ng ALC Group of Companies at dating Ambassador to Laos Antonio Cabangon Chua.

Bago ang libing, pinangunahan muna ni Manila Archbishop Emeritus Gaudencio Cardinal Rosales ang huling misa para kay “Amba”.

Ngunit bago tuluyang dalhin sa San Felipe Neri Catholic Cemetery di kalayuan sa simbahan, inikot muna ang kanyang karosa sa lugar na kanyang kinalakhan sa Barangay Namayan.

Pagdating sa sementeryo, nag-alay ng huling panalangin ang mga dumalo na sinamahan pa ng mga awitin habang ipinapasok ang kabaong sa nitso.

Kasunod nito, nagpaabot naman ng huling mensahe ang isa sa mga anak ni Amba na si D. Edgard Cabangon.
