Itinalaga ni President elect Rodrigo Duterte ang kanyang schoolmate na si Atty. Rodolfo Salalima bilang kalihim ng Department of Information and Communications Technology o DICT.
Nagsilbi si Salalima bilang Senior Vice President for Corporate and Regulatory Affairs ng Globe hanggang sa magretiro ito noong 2008.
Sa kasalukuyan, siya ay Presidente ng Philippine Chamber of Telecommunications Operators Inc. (PCTO) at Board Director ng Telecoms Infrastructure Corporation of the Philippines (TELICPHIL).
Si Salalima ay miyembro rin ng executive committee ng National ICT Advisory Council.
