Ito ang ibinunyag ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte sa inagurasyon ng bagong shooting range ng ARMSCOR Shooting Center Incorporated sa Davao City.
Kampante rin ang Pangulo na malalampasan ng Pilipinas ang sinasabing “Pocket Wars” sa kabila ng kanselasyon ng firearms deal sa U.S. noong 2016.
Gayunman, hindi tinukoy ni Pangulong Duterte kung sa China o Russia ang paparating na karagdagang armas.
We are getting some firearms somewhere I am not in the liberty to divulge it but in the next few days we will have about 5,000 more, the shipment coming from a friendly country. Samantala, ikinukunsidera ng punong ehekutibo ang pag-mobilize at pag-a-armas sa mga Filipinong sumailalim sa military training partikular ang mga kumuha ng Reserve Officers’ Training Course sakaling lumala ang problema sa terorismo.
But if things get worst, I will allow the mobilization and maybe purchase of the ROTC and those guys who had military training and I will allow you to use, bare the high caliber firearms, kasi if its terrorism, they would do it just like other place in the Middle East then that is the time we will fight for our survival.”
