Pinasalamatan ni Senate Blue Ribbon Committee Chairman Richard Gordon si dating Pangulong Noynoy Aquino sa pagdalo nito sa pagdinig ukol sa kontrobersyal na dengue vaccine program ng Department of Health o DOH.
Ayon kay Gordon, layon ng imbitasyon ng Senado sa dating Pangulo na malinawan ukol sa ipinatupad na pagbabakuna sa dengvaxia sa ilalim ng administrasyon ni Aquino.
Sinabi ni Gordon na maraming magulang ang nangangamba para sa kaligtasan ng kanilang mga anak na nabakunahan ng dengvaxia.
“We are grateful that you came because we’re not here to investigate anyone, we’re here to find the truth, there is no attempt to conduct any investigation for purposes of political aggrandizement but there is also no attempt to hide the truth from the public.” Ani Gordon
Iginiit din ni Gordon na layon ng imbestigasyong ito ng Senado na protektahan bilang institusyon ang Department of Health.
“So if we make a mistake in an immunization program, we’re putting a bad name to immunization that is already happening in the whole world, in America there is a debate on immunization, some mothers don’t want their children to be immunized, and a mistake like this will cause more doubt. “ Pahayag ni Gordon
