Kinumpirma ni dating pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang pag-iral ng reward system para sa mga pulis na makakapatay ng drug suspect sa ilalim ng drug war campaign ng kanyang administrasyon.

Ayon sa dating pangulo, mapupunta ang pabuya sa pulis, kung ang suspek ay mapapatay o maaaresto, basta’t na-resolba ang kaso.

Ito rin aniya ang nagsisilbing pondo ng pulisya sa tuwing out-of-town ang operasyon.

Nang tanungin ni Kabataan Party-List Rep. Raoul Manuel, inamin din ng dating pangulo ang pagkakaroon ng isang ‘muking’ na siyang nangangasiwa ng reward system, at isang empleyado ng presidential management staff.

Samantala, tumanggi namang sumagot ang dating presidente kung nanggaling sa confidential funds ng Office of the President ang nasabing pondo.

5 The finalists compete in the Spelling Bee’s first round, a written spelling test.

The Grand Finals of the first-ever SM Super Spelling Bee captivated audiences at the SM Mall of Asia Music Hall on October 21, 2024. Forty young spelling enthusiasts from across the Philippines competed in a thrilling finale, vying to be crowned the SM Super Spelling Bee’s inaugural champion.

Timothy Flynn Tiamzon from the Philippines Montessori School, Inc., representing SM City Marikina, wins the grand prize at the inaugural SM Super Spelling Bee Grand Finals held at the SM Mall of Asia.

The SM Super Spelling Bee, organized in partnership with the Department of Education (DepEd), National University (NU), National Book Store, Jollibee, Power Mac Center, and Lanson Place, aims to promote a love for spelling and literacy among young Filipinos. This year, more than 4,800 students aged 9 to 11 participated in elimination rounds held across 40 SM malls over three weekends.

Timothy Flynn Tiamzon, representing SM City Marikina, emerged as the grand champion. He received Php 50,000 in cash and SM gift certificates, Php 150,000 worth of National Book Store gift certificates, Php 10,000 in Jollibee gift certificates, a MacBook Air from Power Mac Center, and a full tuition waiver from NU.

The first runner-up, Priam Harvey Castillo, representing SM City Manila, received Php 30,000 in cash and SM gift certificates, a full tuition waiver at NU, Php 100,000 in National Book Store gift certificates, Php 7,000 in Jollibee gift certificates, and a MacBook Air.

Second runner-up Clark Elizar Ramos, representing SM City Cauayan won Php 20,000 in cash and SM gift certificates, a 50% tuition discount at NU, Php 50,000 in National Book Store gift certificates, Php 5,000 in Jollibee gift certificates, and a MacBook Air.

Participants ranking 6th to 10th place each receive Php 15,000 in National Bookstore gift certificates and Php 5,000 in Power Mac Center gift certificates. The United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) Women’s International Network for Disaster Risk Reduction (WIN DRR) Leadership Awards, supported by the Australian government and SM Prime Holdings (SM Prime), celebrate outstanding women DRR leaders in Asia and the Pacific. Ipinaliwanag rin nito na maaaring isa sa mga sanhi ng pamumuo ng kaulapan sa Pacific ocean ang La Niña-like conditions  na nararanasan ngayon ng bansa.

Nabunyag ito matapos na tanungin ni Senate President Pro Tempore Jinggoy Estrada sa judiciary budget kung saan si Senate Finance Committee Chairperson Grace Poe ang dumidepensa sa budget ng ahensya sa plenaryo.

Paliwanag ni Sen. Poe, mahigit 14,000 ang hindi pa nareresolbang kaso sa Supreme Court; 26 naman sa Court of Appeals; higit 1,000 naman sa Court of Tax Appeals; at 362,000 naman sa mga Regional Trial Courts.

Gayundin sa nasa family courts, metropolitan at Municipal Trial Courts, Municipal Circuit Trial Courts at Sharia Circuit Courts.

Sa kasalukuyang ay pinag-aaralan na ng korte suprema ang digitalization ng kanilang mga court process at paggamit din ng artificial intelligence para mapabilis ang proseso ng paglilitis ng mga kaso.
