Kasalukuyang gumagawa ang University of the Philippines (UP) Manila ng novel cell-based immunoassay platform para sa serologic testing ng COVID-19.
Pinangunahan ni University of the Philippines Dr. Fresthel Monica Climacosa at University of Toronto ang proyektong “development of a cell-based immunoassay for covid-19 serologic testing” na pinondohan ng Department of Science and Technology-Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (DOST-PCHRD).
Ayon kay DOST Secretary Fortunato De La Peña, mayroong tatlong uri ng COVID-19 tests kung saan ito ay ang polymerase chain reaction (PRC)at antigen test.
Kaugnay nito ang serological testing naman ay maaaring makadetect kung ang isang tao ay nahawaan na ng COVID-19 noon.
Samantala, sinabi ni De La Peña na ang nasabing testing ay iminungkahi ng World Health Organization (WHO) upang suportahan ang diagnosis ng naturang virus. —sa panulat ni Airiam Sancho
