Nilinaw ni Armed Forces of the Philippines o AFP Spokesman Brig. Gen. Restituto Padilla na kontrolado na ng militar at pulis ang malaking bahagi ng Marawi City, taliwas sa mga pinapalabas sa social media.
Ayon kay Padilla, iilang lugar na lamang ang hawak ng grupong Maute at hindi totoong hawak nito ang kalahati ng lungsod.
Naniniwala rin si Padilla na malapit nang matapos ang sagupaan sa pagitan ng pamahalaan at ng mga bandido.
“For seeking to end this as soon as possible, our ground commanders have assured that the end is almost there. We hope to get a clear result, we have complete control of the city by the way, control to what is coming out in social media. The Armed Forces and the police and our forces are in complete control of the city exempt for certain areas of the city where they continue to hold, these are the subject of the clearing operations”, ani Padilla.
