Itinanggi ni Jomar Canlas, Senior Reporter ng The Manila Times, na ibinunyag niya kay Atty. Larry Gadon ang source ng kanyang artikulo hinggil sa di umano’y pamemeke ng Temporary Restraining Order o TRO ni Supreme Court Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno.
Ayon kay Canlas, kahit minsan ay hindi niya nagawang ibunyag ang kanyang news sources, sa loob ng dalawampu’t limang (25) taon niya sa pamamahayag.
Matatandaan na sa testimonya ni Gadon, sinabi niya na napag – alaman niya ang pekeng TRO mula kay Canlas na nakakuha naman ng impormasyon mula kay Supreme Court Associate Justice Teresita De Castro.
I hereby deny that I have intimated to Atty. Gadon that the source of facts in my article is Supreme Court Associate Justice Teresita J. Leonardo De Castro.
I have never revealed to anyone my source or sources in the said article, who sulfides into say a reliable and a well place sources.
As a matter of fact, for the past 25 years as a journalist and a reporter for the justice beat for two decades I have not revealed my sources to anyone.
Samantala, aminado naman si Gadon na hindi na siya sigurado kung si Canlas nga ang pinagmulan ng kanyang impormasyon na nagmula di umano kay De Castro.
Gayunman, binigyang – diin ni Gadon na hindi naman mababago nito ang katotohanan na mayroong nagawang paglabag sa batas si Sereno.
I cannot really remember now whether it was Jomar Canlas who intimated into me but I talked to him several times and he may have intimated into me your honor.
And, well… it doesn’t change the fact your honor that there was an article about the TRO and the existence of the… incident of changing the context of the TRO will be testified by the [Supreme Court] Associate Justice Teresita De Castro herself your honor.
Sinermonan naman ni Congressman Tony Leachon si Atty. Larry Gadon makaraang aminin nito na hindi na niya matiyak kung kanino niya nalaman na si Supreme Court Associate Justice Teresita De Castro ang nagbunyag sa di umano’y penekeng Temporary Restraining Order o TRO ni Supreme Court Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno.
Binigyang – diin ni Leachon na ang justice committee ang nalalagay sa alanganin sa mga ganitong aksyon ni Gadon bilang complainant sa impeachment case.
Dapat aniyang alalahanin ni Gadon na ang gusto niyang ipatanggal sa puwesto sa pamamagitan ng impeachment ay isa sa pinakamataas na opisyal ng bansa.
I cannot but tell you this one that last time you said it was Jomar Canlas now that there was denial, on the one you are quoting with, now you cannot… you are saying to this committee that you’re forgetting everything.
That cannot be done at expense of the justice committee, at the expense of the impeachment proceeding, as for provided by the constitution, and as expense of removing the Chief Justice.
