Over 2,000 runners participated in Takbo #ParaSaLife, Home Credit Philippines’ first-ever fun run held at Parqal in Aseana City. Organized by WeKenRun, the event offered 1K, 3K, 5K, and 10K categories, promoting health and wellness among Filipinos and reinforcing Home Credit’s commitment to supporting customers not just financially, but holistically.

More than 2,000 runners took a step toward a healthier lifestyle today as they joined Takbo #ParaSaLife, Home Credit Philippines’ (HCPH) first-ever fun run. As the country’s leading consumer finance company, Home Credit continues its mission of supporting Filipinos—not just financially, but holistically—by promoting physical and mental well-being. 

Held at Parqal in Aseana City, and organized in collaboration with WeKenRun, a running group led by renowned marathon coach Ken Mendola, the event featured 1K, 3K, 5K, and 10K categories, making it accessible to runners of all fitness levels.

Apart from the fun run participants and the Home Credit executives and team members, guests and personalities, including Lester Cruz, CEO of Singlife Philippines, also graced the event to support Home Credit’s drive for healthier lifestyles. Employees from Boltech and SM, along with valued event partners from Xiaomi, Park Access and Singlife, also joined the race. 

Championing holistic wellness

“According to the World Health Organization (WHO), almost 38% of Filipinos are physically inactive, putting them at risk for lifestyle-related diseases. A successful turnout and exciting rewards

The event welcomed Home Credit team members, first-time runners, and seasoned running enthusiasts, all united by a shared commitment to health and wellness. Participants received running shirts, race bibs, and loot bags from event partners, and finisher medals will also be shipped to them. Additionally, podium finishers in the 10K, 5K, and 3K categories took home exciting cash prizes—including a ₱10,000 grand prize for the fastest runner in the 10K distance. 

Additionally, Home Credit and its partners made the event even more rewarding with exciting prizes, including gift certificates for ON Running Shoes and Suunto, Park Access vouchers, and smart home gadgets from Xiaomi. Podium finishers also took home insurance vouchers from Singlife—₱7,500, ₱5,000, and ₱2,500 for both male and female first placers of the 10KM, 5KM, and 3KM categories respectively. These winnings are just one of the many ways Takbo #ParaSaLife continues to champion holistic well-being while making every stride even more worthwhile.

Joma Unabia, a first-time fun run participant and 10K finisher, shared his excitement about joining Takbo #ParaSaLife. “This was my first time joining a fun run, and I never imagined I could complete the 10K category—but I did! It was such an incredible experience. Thanks to Home Credit, I got to challenge myself and achieve something I never thought possible. This event has inspired me to stay active, set bigger fitness goals, and make running a part of my lifestyle. I hope to join again next year and push myself even further!”

OPM HIP-HOP ARTISTS COME TOGETHER FOR MUSIC FEST THIS SATURDAY AT SM NORTH EDSA’S SKYDOME

OPM hip hop reigns supreme this Saturday at SM North EDSA!

Music fans are in for an amazing weekend as the best names in the country’s hip-hop industry converge for a day for SM Fandom’s “OPM Series: Hip Hop Fest” this Saturday (Feb 22), 3 pm, at SM North EDSA’s Sky Dome.

Al James, Ron Henley, Illest Morena, Loonie, JE halle, Fitz Shioda, Calvin de Leon, Frizzle Anne, Julie, and Bugs are all set to perform to give fans a rocking Saturday.

Fans can get event passes by downloading the SM Malls Online app on the App Store or Google Play. SM Supermalls has partnered with the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) to implement the Mall Voting Program (MVP) for the May 12, 2025 National and Local Elections. This collaboration was formalized through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between SM Prime Holdings, Inc. and COMELEC, signed on February 21, 2025, at the COMELEC Main Office. The partnership aims to bring the electoral process closer to the Filipino people, enhancing voter convenience and accessibility.

20 SM malls to host the Mall Voting Program

As part of the partnership, the MVP will be held in 20 SM Malls nationwide, where SM Supermalls will provide rent-free spaces and amenities at its locations.

In return, COMELEC will be responsible for staffing the polling places with trained personnel, ensuring compliance with election guidelines, and maintaining security within the voting areas. The commission will also coordinate with SM Supermalls on logistics, including the delivery and storage of election materials.

Boosting voter turnout and experience

With the accessibility and convenience of SM Supermalls, COMELEC aims to increase voter turnout and improve the overall voting experience. Voters will enjoy a more comfortable and secure environment, particularly benefiting Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), senior citizens, and pregnant voters.

The MVP highlights the value of public-private partnerships in strengthening democratic processes. This collaboration serves as a model for future elections, demonstrating how shared resources and expertise can contribute to a more efficient and accessible electoral system.

The SM Mall of Asia (MOA) recently opened its stunning new attraction, the 55,000 sqm MOA Sky, with a launch event that was nothing short of extraordinary. It was a whirlwind of entertainment, celebration, and community spirit, leaving attendees with unforgettable memories.

The MOA Sky, a 55,000-sqm attraction, is introduced at the SM Mall of Asia through a remarkable launch held on February 25.

A grand opening with dance and inspiration

The event began with a captivating performance by the National University (NU) Dance Company, followed by an inspiring speech from SM Supermalls President Steven Tan, who highlighted the MOA Sky’s vision and community significance.

“The MOA Sky isn’t just an expansion; it’s an exciting transformation. SM MOA already was a world-class destination as one of the world’s ten biggest malls, but today, aside from a host of new brands and world-renowned tenant partners within the mall—we have a larger-than-life playground where every experience is bigger and bolder,” he shared.

The MOA Sky offers diverse attractions, including a FIFA-standard football pitch, a tranquil sanctuary, a lively amphitheater, a 3-megawatt solar rooftop, and an expansive paw park.

A visually stunning MOA Sky video then took viewers on a virtual tour of the breathtaking space, building anticipation for the real experience.

The MOA Sky tour: A journey through themed delights

The heart of the event was the MOA Sky Tour, where attendees were guided through various themed stops. The first stop, the 1,800-seat FIFA-grade MOA Football Pitch, was a highlight, featuring the Filipinas, the Philippines’ women’s national football team, generating immense excitement among sports enthusiasts.

The tour continued with a photo opportunity at the MOA Sanctuary, debuting its exhibition this March. Nestled within a lush garden, it offers a serene escape for contemplation, with a central oval glass structure serving as both a prayer space and art gallery. The tour then moved to a lively celebration at the North Sky Plaza, featuring Filipino-American artist Jefre’s 12 4-meter-tall Zodiac-themed art installations.

Sustainability and pet-friendly fun

The tour also showcased SM Prime’s commitment to sustainability with a stop at the 3-megawatt solar photovoltaic rooftop that harnesses the sun’s energy for a brighter tomorrow.

Animal lovers then enjoyed a Dalbong (a Philippine Corgi dog that won a world title at the World Dog Show 2023 held in Switzerland) exhibition at the sprawling 577-sqm Paw Park.

The sixth stop, the South Plaza, was a hub of artistic expression with live artists such as Jouache Panaligan, Erwin Grino, Rai Cruz, and AC Bautista.

Music, fireworks, and a mesmerizing drone show

As the sun began to set, the energy shifted towards the highly anticipated concert featuring Filipino singer-songwriter Adie, alternative rock band Hale, and indie pop band December Avenue at the MOA Amphitheater. The night sky then lit up with a spectacular fireworks display, followed by a mesmerizing drone show that led the crowd toward the MOA Football Pitch.
