Ipinag-utos na ng Department of Labor and Employment sa mga airline company na alisin na ang travel tax at terminal fees sa presyo ng mga ticket para sa mga Overseas Filipino Worker.
Ayon kay Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello, exempted na ang mga OFW sa pagbabayad ng travel tax at terminal fees alinsunod sa Presidential Decree 1183 at Republic Act 8042 o Migrant Workers and Overseas Filipino Act of 1995.
Karamihan anya sa mga OFW ay hindi na nakatanggap ng refund dahil hindi naman nila ito batid o kakulangan ng oras upang i-proseso ang kanilang refund.
Pina-re-remit din ng kalihim sa Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines ang travel tax at terminal fees na hindi ni-refund sa mga OFW ng Overseas Workers Welfare Administration.
