Nanghinayang si Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte sa kabiguang makalusot ni dating ni Environment Secretary Gina Lopez sa Commission on Appointments o CA.
Ayon kay Pangulong Duterte, umiral ang demokrasya subalit nanaig at gumana ang “lobby money” kaya hindi nakalusot sa makapangyarihang komisyon si Lopez.
Aminado si Pangulong Duterte na hanga siya sa marubdob na adbokasiya ni Lopez sa pangangalaga sa kalikasan subalit hindi niya kontrolado ang lahat sa gobyerno.
“Sayang si Gina (Lopez) I really like her passion but hindi ko talaga kontrolado. Gusto ko, may mga tao ako na gusto ko pero I share power, and that is the presence of checks and balancing. The President appoints but the appointee has to undergo the Commission on Appointments (CA) which is the combination of a committee from the lower house, the congressman, and the upper house, the senate”, bahagi ng talumpati ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte.
