Nilinaw ni Presidential Communications Office o PCO Secretary Martin Andanar na hindi nila ina-accredit bilang mga tradisyunal na journalist o miyembro ng NPC o National Press Club ang mga bloggers.
Ito ay kasunod ng planong pagpapalabas ng department order ng PCO na nagpapahintulot sa mga bloggers o social media practitioners na mag-cover sa mga aktibidad ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte.
Ayon kay Andanar, hindi tulad ng mga regular na journalist na may mga access sa mga aktibidad ng Pangulo, ang mga bloggers ay kailangan pang humingi ng pahintulot mula sa PCO at PSG o Presidential Security Group.
“Wala po sila doon as journalists but as bloggers at number two yung kanilang access is not the same as the access of the media in ways na more than one, yung mga bloggers po they have to apply kada event dapat may approval sila ng PCOO at PSG.” Ani Andanar
Idinagdag pa ni Andanar na ang nasabing accreditation ay magiging bukas hindi lamang sa mga bloggers na pro-administration kundi maging sa mga kritiko ng Pangulo.
“The openness of the policy is not limited to those who support the President, but also the opposition, we are trying to be inclusive, it means we can accredit anyone as long as they are bonafide social media practitioners.” Pahayag ni Andanar
