MakatiMed tops endocrinology and gastroenterology specializations, strengthens excellent delivery of patient care in the region
Newsweek in partnership with Statista presented its Best Specialized Hospitals Asia Pacific 2026 with Makati Medical Center (MakatiMed) ranking among the top of the list for the Philippines.
The Best Specialized Hospitals Asia Pacific 2026 highlights leading institutions in the region that are expanding their expertise and setting new standards for care across 10 specialties including cardiology, cardiac surgery, endocrinology, gastroenterology, neurology, neurosurgery, oncology, orthopedics, pediatrics and pulmonology.
MakatiMed ranks first in the country for endocrinology and gastroenterology, while placing within the top three for cardiac surgery, cardiology and pediatrics.
According to Saturnino P. Javier, MD, Makati Medical Center Interim Co-President & CEO and Medical Director, the recognition is a testament to the hospital’s continued commitment of strengthening its multidisciplinary expertise and delivery of excellent, specialized, and compassionate patient care.
Makati Medical Center is also one of the only two hospitals in the country to be included in the global list of the World’s Best Hospitals for 2026, earning a place in the top 250. The ranking covers 32 countries, and this year marks the addition of the Philippines for the first time.
