Aniya, “Dapat naman, ang dahilan kung bakit sila tatakbo ay nais nilang tumulong, ako, ganyan kaya ako tumakbo, kaya ako pumasok sa pulitika dahil nalulungkot ako sa mga nakikita kong pangyayari. Dahil masakit sa loob ko na makitang naghihirap ang mga Pilipino at naisip ko, siguro naman may kaya akong gawin para makatulong.”

Nagbigay rin ng payo si Pangulong Marcos sa mga kabataan kung paano maiiwasan ang fake news, lalo na sa panahon ng teknolohiya.

“Huwag kayong magbabasa yung isa lang bagay, basahin niyo lahat. Ang turo sa akin ng lola ko, sabi niya, magbasa ka ng kahit na ano at ikaw nang bahala na mangilatis kung ano yung maganda o ano yung hindi tama. And that’s what history can guide us with.”

Tungkol naman sa presyo ng bigas ang liham ni Lianne ng Santa Rosa, Laguna. Aniya, tinanong siya ng kanyang anak kung ang ibig sabihin ba ng BBM ay “Bigas, Biglang Mahal”?

Paliwanag ni Pangulong Marcos, hindi lang Pilipinas ang may seryosong problema sa bigas. Nararamdaman din aniya ito sa ibang bansa sa Asya, kabilang na ang top rice producers na Vietnam at Thailand, dahil sa “external shocks” katulad ng paggalaw sa presyo ng langis.

Pagtitiyak niya, “Ginagawa natin lahat upang naman ang produksyon natin ay maging sapat na hindi na tayo nag-iimport, mababawasan ang mga inputs, kung tawagin para sa ating mga farmer at sana naman ay ma-stabilize man lang natin yung presyo ng bigas.”

Samantala, nakiusap sina Mark at Sophia sa kanilang mga liham na huwag i-phaseout ang mga traditional jeepney dahil sumisimbolo ito sa mga Pilipino.

Paglilinaw ni Pangulong Marcos, “Hindi po natin pinapalitan ang ating traditional na jeepney, ginagawa lang nating modern dahil yung pagka nilipat natin, gagawin natin electric yang mga yan ay mas malaki nag kikitain ng ating mga nagpapasada dahil ang cost per kilometer ng mga electric na bagong modernized na jeepney ay mas mababa, mas maganda nga ang kita ng ating mga nagpapasada.”

Bukod sa mga jeep, mayroon pang gustong i-modernize si Pangulong Marcos. Ito ang lumang pag-uugali ng mga Pilipino sa kalsada. Paalala niya, ang Bagong Pilipino ay dapat maging disiplinado, maunawain, at sumusunod sa mga batas trapiko.

Binawian ng buhay ang isang welder matapos mahulog sa ikalawang palapag ng isang tahanan sa Tondo, Manila, habang nagtratrabaho.

Kinilala ang biktimang si Noli Villafuerte, 50 taong gulang at residente ng Parola Compound sa Binondo, Manila.

Ayon sa imbestigasyon ng Manila Police District (MPD), nagkukumpuni si Villafuerte ng bintana ng isang bahay sa 655 Claro M. Recto Avenue, dakong alas dose ng tanghali noong Lunes, nang biglang bumigay ang tinutungtungan nitong makeshift platform.

Dahil dito, nahulog ang biktima sa semento at nagtamo ng pinsala sa ulo at binti.

Nasaksihan ng kasamahan nitong si Rey Ballena ang insidente kaya agad na naisugod ang biktima sa Gat Andres Bonifacio Memorial Medical Center, ngunit idineklara na itong dead-on-arrival.

Binawian ng buhay ang mag-ina matapos ma-trap sa sunog na sumiklab sa isang residential area sa Mandaluyong.

Ayon sa ulat ng Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)–Mandaluyong, natabunan ng debris ang 81-year-old na babae at ang 54-year-old na lalaking anak nito na naging dahilan ng kanilang pagkasawi.

Nagsimula ng alas onse ng gabi ang sunog sa Backside Street sa Barangay Vergara, Mandaluyong na umakyat sa ikalawang alarma.

Bagama’t nahirapan ang mga bumbero sa pag-apula ng apoy dahil sa makipot na mga daan, idineklara itong fire-out ng alas dos ng madaling araw noong Sabado.

Tinatayang higit 100 na pamilya ang naapektuhan ng sunog. Pansamantala silang inilikas sa Isaac Lopez Integrated School at sa barangay covered court.
