Iprinisinta ng Philippine National Police sa media si Albuera, Leyte Mayor Rolando Espinosa Sr. Matapos itong boluntaryong sumuko dahil sa umano’y pagkakasangkot sa iligal na droga.
Sa isang press conference, sinabi ni PNP Chief Director General Ronald Dela Rosa na iti-turn over si Espinosa sa CIDG.
“Right now wala siyang warrant of arrest, although he is fully consenting that is why he is voluntary surrendered, so nagpa custody sya sa akin, for the turn over to the investigation of the CIDG on the conduct of the investigation.”ayon kay Gen. Dela Rosa.
Ipinabatid din ni Dela Rosa na umiiral pa rin ang “shoot on sight” order ng Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte sa anak ng alkalde na si Kerwin Espinosa na nananatiling at-large.
Una nang inamin ng matandang Espinosa na sangkot ang kanyang anak sa illegal drug trade.
“Kung nakikinig ngayon si Kerwin, you’re father has already surrendered so you should follow your father, dahil pag di ka mag surrender, mamamatay ka talaga, so you better surrender” karagdagang pahayag ni Chief PNP Dela Rosa
