Binigyang diin ng isang law expert na dapat managot ang Judicial and Bar Council kung bakit nakalusot ang kuwestiyunableng appointment ni Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno.
Ginawa ni San Beda Graduate School of Law Dean Fr. Ranhilio Aquino ang pahayag makaraang paboran ng mataas na hukuman ang Quo Warranto Petition na isinampa ni Solicitor General Jose Calida laban sa punong mahistrado.
Sa panayam ng DWIZ, iginiit ni Aquino na hindi lamang si Sereno ang dapat sisihin kundi maging ang kalihim ng JBC sa maluwag na alituntunin kaya nakapasok sa shortlist si Sereno.
“She was not informed that candidate Sereno at that time, have not complied to the SALN requirements and the clerical functions like this are usually not taken care of directly by the chairman of the JBC … on the chief justice or an associate justice.”
