Thirty-six couples, who are SM Group employees, exchanged vows during the ninth Kasalan sa SM, a mass wedding ceremony organized by the Felicidad T. Sy Foundation (FTSFI) on Monday, October 14, 2024. The event was held at the Archdiocesan Shrine of Jesus – the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
The mass wedding provides couples with the opportunity to formalize their unions. It also promotes SM Group's commitment to upholding the Filipino Catholic faith and fostering strong family values within the community.
The Kasalan sa SM, which began almost a decade ago, is among the religious activities championed by SM Group matriarch Nanang Felicidad T. Sy, who is dedicated to promoting spiritual well-being within communities.
Mrs. Sy’s vision has also led to the operation of masses and the rehabilitation of churches and shrines within and near SM malls as well as other cities and towns in the country, providing accessible places of worship for Catholic mallgoers and communities the group serves.
